On Thursday, July 23, more than 24,000 cyclists will ride through Reinbeck during RAGBRAI—Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. As the meeting town for the day’s ride, our community will welcome thousands of people from across the state and the country.
This is an incredible opportunity for New Life Church to be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving our community with generosity, hospitality, and encouragement. Every smile, every conversation, every bottle of water, and every act of kindness has the opportunity to point someone toward Christ.
Kingdom Builders
Funds raised during RAGBRAI will go toward Kingdom Builders, which helps share the hope of Jesus through global missionaries, local outreach, and strategic missions projects. Every act of service and every purchase made helps make a Kingdom impact, both here in our community and around the world!
Serving Opportunities
Volunteers are needed at two different locations throughout the day. Both locations will be open beginning at 7:30 AM and will wrap up by 3:00 PM.
Please bring your own lunch if you’ll be serving during the day.
Located on Main Street, this will be our refreshment stand where cyclists can stop to refuel before continuing their ride.
Volunteers at this location will:
- Sell fresh, cold fruit and hydration multiplier drinks
- Welcome and encourage riders
- Help keep the stand stocked and organized
We are looking for 2–3 volunteers per shift at this location.
A sign-up spreadsheet is available below to choose the shift that works best for you.
Our church parking lot will become a refreshing stop where riders can cool down, rest, and experience the love of Jesus.
Volunteers at this location will serve in two stations:
- Sprinkler Cool-Off Station, volunteers manage this area for cyclists to ride through the cold water
- Cool-Off Tent, volunteers provide water, visit with riders, and offer prayer to anyone who would like it
We are looking for 3-4 volunteers per shift and per station at this location.
